Hey Mommies!… If you haven’t already seen it already, you have to check out Jimmy Kimmel’s YouTube Challenge: “I Told My Kids I Ate All Their Halloween Candy”.
This is the 4th year Jimmy Kimmel has done the challenge, and it’s a mix of funny, sad, appalling, cute, and sweet. (Depends on each kid’s reaction) 🙂 See the video below!
Well, this year, our son was just shy of 2 1/2 and really started to understand Halloween. He trick or treated our whole street this year and was so happy and excited about his candy when he got home that night.
And bless his little heart, one of his favorite things to do with the candy when we got home was to say “Trick or treat” and then GIVE his daddy or me a piece of his candy. We thought it was really sweet that he realized people were giving on Halloween instead of just getting.
Our son is a pretty sweet boy, but being about 2 1/2, he has definitely had more tantrums and orneriness. So, I was curious to see how he would react, if we told him we ate all his candy.
Here’s what happened.
Poor guy but I have to say, I think overall, he handled it pretty well!
We work hard on talking about emotions and feelings and do not tolerate or condone any type of hitting or irate responses. We want him to be in control of himself and able to communicate how he feels. I think he did a pretty good job of that! Plus, after I gave back his candy, he went right back to giving some to us after saying “trick or treat.” Love my sweet boy! 🙂
So has anyone else ever “Jimmy Kimmeled” their kids??? What was their response??
